Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia a city known for its outcasts Ya Boy R Money is truly out of the ordinary. Born in the year of 1983 as Rafael Echols, he grew up in a single parent home as the second oldest sibling in a housing project there in Cartersville, Georgia. In 1995 his mother left the area and moved to Atlanta, GA where she supported her family alone. It was then seeing his mother hustle and grind to provide for the family he captured the relentless example and incorporated it into his everyday work ethics “Hustling”. At the age of 15 the love for poetry and composing music became more and more alive inside of him. In the year of 1999 his mother seen the art and budding passion in her son and she brought a keyboard as a Christmas gift for him that he could continue to pursue the passion to grow as a rapper.
Ya Boy R Money was inspired by artist such as: Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Drake and Diddy, that he begin to carry pencils and paper everywhere he went to right down rhymes and lyrics as they came to him. As he continued to struggle with the dreams of breaking through in the music industry, Ya Boy R Money began to put the “Hustle” to effect and given the choice of applying for work in restaurants or becoming a dealer, he chose the latter. In what the streets of Atlanta would define a true hustler. Ya Boy R Money would never forget the real honest hustle his mother imparted in him: “Make Your Own Dollar Holla” meaning: never wait on someone else to birth your dreams you have to believe in yourself and birth your own dreams.” This stayed with him as he served time in the State of Georgia Correctional System. It was then he used the term “Hustler” as an energetic go-getter with a drive to succeed legitimately in using that energy as the engine towards building his success.
Ya Boy R Money is one of Atlanta, GA fresh young artist that has been making a strong impact in the Southeast area. As he is currently working on his single “I Like” to be released in Spring of 2013. Ya Boy R Money is in the phase of increasing radio spins and collaborating with other artist as he continue mesmerizing the audience with his performance in Atlanta’s hip hop underground scenes.
