Biography
Friends since high school, Adam Holt (drums), Rick Johnson (guitar) and Ross
Facundo (bass) have been making music together for a long time. In 2002, Adam
and Rick decided to leave New Caney, Texas to pursue their music and move to Los
Angeles. While back in Texas visiting over the holidays, Adam convinced Ross to
make the move to LA as well. The threesome worked in various projects together
with a variety of vocalists, but in the fall of 2004 they weren’t completely
satisfied and they once again placed an ad in a local newspaper.
Vinn Lombardo (vocals) answered that ad. Originally from White Plains, New York,
Vinn moved to Los Angeles to also pursue music. He was working with another band
at the time but when he heard the instrumental tracks, he knew that there was
something special there.
“We auditioned almost 200 vocalists. I think that Vinn was the 191st, we knew he
was the one when he walked in, he had the vibe we were looking for. Then he
started singing and… well the rest is history,” says Adam. With all of the
pieces now in place, Building A Better Spaceship was born. The band has written
over 50 songs together with influences including U2, the Police and Stone Temple
Pilots to name a few.
The chemistry was immediate. The newly formed band began writing and writing and
writing. From the first session they all had a natural ability to easily create
songs together. Almost immediately they were in the studio recording their first
3 songs and began playing shows at various venues throughout California, Las
Vegas and Hawaii. “Successfully reflected rock music from all different
backgrounds while still keeping it real.” –Smash Magazine
With their diverse approach to modern rock and their honest and passionate live
shows, they have broken through that unbreakable wall of recognition in Los
Angeles.
