PhunktHouse featuring J. Kasp, Cali, Stump
and G$
Revolution

Note from Indie Artists Alliance: PhunktHouse was also a winner on our first compilation CD with their entry What's That Song. The entire group of folks at PH are eloquent, talented and passionate. They prove that Rap and Hip Hop can have a social consciousness and passion. These gentlemen maintain a varied sound from song to song ranging from Freestyle Rap to full instrumentation. All of their songs have solid beats and a ton of creativity
Who would have ever thought that one person's idea of a
demo studio would turn into a 13-member hip-hop band? Certainly not RV, founder
of Phunkthouse. Oh yes, I said 13 members! All of which are equally important to
the unique sound that is Phunkthouse! In the beginning, RV created Phunkthouse
as a way to help artists who wanted to make a demo cd, without the high cost of
a professional studio and sound engineer. Unbeknownst to RV at the time, this
would soon create the perfect circumstances to form what is now Phunkthouse! As
time passed the group steadily grew bigger, louder and stronger. Everyone wanted
to be a part of PH! Eventually, Phunkthouse reached a point where the band
finally had to say, "No more new members". I'd hardly say Phunkthouse has
settled at 13 though. Each member brings in a talent and "Phunk" all their own,
composing one of the most diverse and artful collaborations to scorch the
hip-hop scene!
Why hip-hop? Well, besides the fact that hip-hop allows the most room for creativity and the ability to contain 13 MC's., it's the passion that the music itself invokes. The crisp beats, dramatic lyrics and the phenominal flow of it all burrow deep in your soul. To most artists music is an outlet, a way to channel all that's inside you and unleash it onto the world! If you ask a TRUE fan what they think of the art today, they will tell you that most of what you hear on the radio is not what hip-hop was meant to be. Hip-hop is in a class all by itself. To some, hip-hop may not fit into the more "traditional" mold of music; but if you have a beat in your head, a pen in your hand and a fire in your heart...people will feel it.
Phunkthouse never wanted to be more than what it already is. Although music contracts have been offered, PH quickly dismissed them due to the fact that, "Through thick and thin, Phunkthouse stays together and plays together". Unfortunately, that wasn't the design of the contract. This is a group that could not be better defined in a single word, than by "family". Always listening to what each other has to say and allowing ALL to influence the group equally, Phunkthouse delivers a sincerity thats rare in this world today. Many of their shows are currently in Flagstaff, Arizona. Most members live in Phoenix, yet still manage to find their way up and play an amazing show! If you haven't seen these guys live yet, I suggest rectifying that quickly! When you witness Phunkthouse doing what they do best on that stage, seeing the crowd in total synch with the music, and feel the rhythm & rhyme behind it...Phunkthouse quickly draws you into their domain, and there is no escaping it.
So there you have it, how Phunkthouse came to be! Each and every one of them have a favorite memory of the "Phunkthouse"; some about their first show, others about the first time everyone was at a show, some about elicit things and others about ten water bottles in a backpack along with a canine unit. A simple dream of one man turned into this; imagine what they will do next!!!!!!!
