Project:           Webisode Series – a full season of 3-5 minute episodes

Distribution:   initial digital streaming only ;  major sports networks already in discussion for broadcast segments

Project description:  BORN READY is a web-based series of  2-5 minute segments airing weekly during the basketball season, following the life and burgeoning athletic career of  one of the top rated high school basketball players in the country –  Coney Island's Lance Stephenson.  Coming from the same high school as the NBA’s Stephon Marbury and Sebastian Telfair, Stephenson (whose nickname is “Born Ready”) is only a Junior at Lincoln High School, but is already being described as "ready for the NBA" ...  The series will show the talent, survival, family, street and life of what it is to be “Born Ready.”  This series, which will begin streaming during November 2007, has already attracted the attention of major sports networks for possible broadcast packaging ...

SPECIFIC MUSIC NEEDS:
Rap / Urban songs:  
(1) from hardcore lifestyle rap to cool urban tracks,
(2) lyric themes range can include: life on the street, toughness, survival, dreams, sports, family, hope, friendship, making it happen, Brooklyn / NYC, struggles triumphant, etc...
(3) no profanity (make sure there are usable sections without...)
(4) helpful to have instrumental-only mix versions helpful;
(5) some ‘temp’ artist styles – Biggie, Naz, Eric B/Rakim, Young Joc, Soulja Boy, Redman, etc.

MUST BE ALL ORIGINAL MATERIAL AND BEATS - NO SAMPLING
 

  • Rap / Urban new:  mostly looking to work with emerging or unsigned artists – ties into the theme of breaking new talent (i.e. Emerging basketball star/emerging music artist);
  • Rap / Urban hits:  occasional use of known songs from known/hit artists for montage and lifestyle elements;
  • Urban library:  can work a package arrangement on a group of songs/tracks to be used throughout the season
 General Notes:

Please let us know what percentage you control and license on behalf of... (% of synch, % of master).  

Initial licensing – limited budget (website will be licensed via ASCAP/BMI/SESAC) ; possible marketing ties (i.e. Artist credits, links, etc.); Possible ‘options’ licensing.
